About the Art: "Lazy Day at the Otter Spa" By Dakota Daetwiler - 2024 Original Oil painting
 
Join the Manatees at the Otter Spa as they get pampered by the cute little critters! A big happy manatee takes a relaxing break in a hammock along the Florida river bed while 3 otters swim around and pamper it, fanning it with large shells while one feeds it grapes. An alligator waits patiently for the manatee to miss some grapes so he can snatch them up and have a snack! A frog stands guard, looking out for any trouble as the spa's designated "bouncer." Vibrant freshwater local vegetation surrounds the scene, as well as local Florida native river fish. From start to finish, I wanted this piece to be super fun, happy, and imaginative while remaining true to Florida's natural freshwater beauty. I hope you enjoy this painting! It is one of my favorites I have made so far!
